Stay Cool is a pedestrian navigation app that calculates shade-aware walking routes using real-time sun position, building shadow data, and weather information. By using the app, you agree to these terms.
Shade calculations are estimates based on OpenStreetMap building data, SunCalc sun position calculations, and Open-Meteo cloud cover. Actual shade conditions may differ depending on unmapped structures, vegetation, time of year, and other factors.
Stay Cool routes are for pedestrian use only. Do not use Stay Cool while driving or cycling. Always follow applicable traffic laws and use your own judgement about route safety.
In areas with sparse building data, shade scores may be less accurate. We indicate when data coverage is limited.
You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. You must be 13 years of age or older to create an account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, abuse the service, or attempt to circumvent usage limits.
The free tier includes route calculation and navigation with advertisements. The paid tier removes ads and adds saved routes and history. Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually via Stripe.
Subscriptions renew automatically. You may cancel at any time from your profile — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
We do not offer refunds for partial subscription periods, except where required by applicable law.

Stay Cool is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that routes will be shaded, safe, accessible, or free of errors. Use of the app is at your own risk.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Stay Cool and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app.
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
